What are Deep Links?
Deep links are a type of link that sends users directly to an app instead of a website or a store. They are used to send users straight to specific in-app locations, saving users time and energy locating a particular page themselves. For instance, if a Youtube Link is shortened and enabled with the Deep Link feature, it will open the desired live stream, video, or profile inside the YouTube application whenever clicked on. But If the application is not installed, the user will get the web preview of the destination URL.
Deep links are allowed on up to 70 applications under Social Media, e-Commerce, Music, Video, and Productivity categories.
The use of deep linking increases the chances to engage and convert your mobile users by +44% on average. 🚀
Indeed, it provides a better user experience, redirecting to an in-app version of a page, where the navigation is easier, and where the user will be already logged-in and have all his information registered.
Such an experience is more engaging because it has fewer frictions as it requires fewer actions from the user.
Utilization of the Deep Links Feature requires 3 simple steps.
Change the toggle state for Deep Links. If the destination URL can be used as a Deep Link, the following indication will appear.
If the destination URL can not be used as a Deep Link, the following indication will appear.
